Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine

PCOM’s former Student Activity Center was tired and outdated. The planned renovation would not only modernize and rename the facility, but would also re-envision how students would use the facility and what they wanted to see in this campus amenity. BH+L conducted a student poll that clearly showed the types of activities and spaces that were preferred.
The resulting initial design as described in these walkthrough videos, encompasses three stories, a lower level and the roof, includes lounges, meeting rooms, individual and group study areas, workout rooms, basketball courts, food service, retail space, and rooftop entertainment spaces.
The completed project with a slightly reduced scope captures the spirit of the design and the programming proposed in the study.
