Georgetown Incinerator
Washington, DC
Brawer Hauptman + Larkin was the Historic Preservation Architect for this $75,000,000 mixed-use project in Washington’s Georgetown neighborhood. The project design, by Shalom Baranes Associates, centered on the restoration and adaptive reuse of a circa 1930 incinerator and several historic 18th century workers’ houses as part of a new Ritz Carlton Hotel and movie theater complex. The incinerator became part of the new hotel’s lobby and contains restaurants and lounges. The houses were relocated and restored as offices and support spaces.
