Following a Master Planning Study that explored the Institute's spatial needs, BH+L designed a major addition to the existing Bryn Mawr College facility.  The existing building, a former garage, was gutted and renovated.  The addition was designed to be sympathetic to the original structure as well as the surrounding College buildings and private homes.  The Institute retains its welcoming, familiar scale and its intimate, home-like atmosphere.

Nearly twenty years later, BH+L was asked back to make changes to the building to accommodate the Thorne School early learning center that was moving from the adjacent building.
