When this Pocono Mountains skiing community of 1,600 homeowners lost their community center to a fire, they hired BH+L to design their new 9,000-square-foot facility. The block and frame structure houses an indoor swimming pool with men’s and women’s locker rooms, a 3,600-square-foot Great Room with timber frame trusses and an oversized fireplace, a commercial kitchen for providing daily fare for the community as well as for special catered events, and administrative offices for the Winona Lakes Property Owners Association.  The building takes full advantage of the spectacular views to the north and the existing outdoor pool to the south. The Great Room was programmed for a number of uses from dining and dancing to meetings and special events.
