Brawer & Hauptman, Architects is committed to participating in programs that promote social and environmental responsibility.
ACE Mentoring Program
Brawer & Hauptman has been an active participant for several years in this successful outreach program that serves high school students who are exploring careers in Architecture, Construction or Engineering. Many of our staff members have enjoyed working with budding architects on a wide range of challenging projects. David Brawer is a member of ACE’s Board of Directors.
Community Design Collaborative
The Community Design Collaborative is a volunteer organization that offers preliminary design assistance to nonprofit groups and recruits design professionals to provide their services pro bono. Brawer & Hauptman has led design teams on several projects including a Feasibility Study for an addition to the Narberth Community Library and a Facility Assessment and Feasibility Study for the Lutheran Settlement House. Both institutions, as a result of the initial work, were able to go forward with their projects and hired Brawer & Hauptman as their architect. The Lutheran Settlement House effort was awarded the 2004 AIA Community Design Award for Design Excellence.
Sustainable Design
We believe that our commitment to promoting “green” architecture is an integral part of our work with religious, educational, healthcare and community outreach non-profits. Sustainable design has become an important component of any program that promotes social awareness, and we are dedicated to helping our clients achieve their missions through the buildings that they occupy.
Brawer & Hauptman embraces the United States Green Building Council’s “Design Charrette” methodology, a vital part of the process for producing a LEED certified building. It is an exciting, collaborative and dynamic design approach that results in a schematic design based on the shared vision of everyone involved.
