Michael I. Hauptman, AIA received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University, graduating magna cum laude with honors in Fine Arts and as a Louis Dembitz Brandeis Honorary Scholar. Mr. Hauptman is licensed to practice architecture in Pennsylvania and five other states plus the District of Columbia and has National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) certification.

Mr. Hauptman has been on the Advisory Council of the Salvation Army Daycare Center where he was Chairman of the Properties Committee. He has been a workshop instructor for the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC), Temple University Institute for Continuing Studies and the Jewish Community Centers Adult Studies Program. He has also donated time to projects benefiting non-profit organizations through the Community Design Collaborative.

Mr. Hauptman is an officer and a member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Center City Philadelphia and is active on the Building Committee. He and his family have lived in Center City Philadelphia for over thirty years where he is on the Board of Directors of the Queen Village Neighbors Association. Mr. Hauptman co-chairs the Queen Village Zoning Committee and co-authored Queen Village’s design guidelines as Philadelphia’s first Neighborhood Conservation District.

Mr. Hauptman was recently appointed by the Mayor to the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation Board of Directors which will oversee the development and implementation of a master plan for Philadelphia’s waterfront.
