Chancellor Street Carriage House
Philadelphia, PA

The third floor addition to this historically certified carriage house near Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square includes the more public spaces - living room, dining room and kitchen - and keep the bedrooms where they originally were on the second floor. Due to the building’s historic status, the design of the addition was purposely dissimilar to the building’s late Victorian style, and the addition appears to float above the roof of the original structure. The Modern design is simple and stark and is recessed from all edges of the roof. A deck provides dramatic views of the downtown skyline.
